VW (Volkswagen) Tuning

Volkswagen is one of the world’s oldest auto industry brands existing today in the car markets. The Volkswagen brand centers on cost-effective cars instead of the speedy type vehicles, but it never means that VW cars can’t be picked-up for speed and efficiency. The most up-to-date generations of the VW like Polo and Golf at present have the potential of being tuned up for momentum and even could be employed for track racing after the works. Literally, there is a large variety of vehicles ranging from humble MK1 Golf Gti to hot hatches to latest Iroc and V8 engine vehicles and many more in between.

Let’s see the engine enhancement part of VW. Its engine, handling system and differential of VW vehicles is at variance for each model. These are the qualities with which every model comes on the road. Getting a new generation VW Golf or any VW Polo will be a good beginning in making a powerfully tuned-up and modified VW vehicle. Be assured to get an entity with an engine that is powerfully sufficient so that finding a new set of engine is no longer needed. Some of the main engine capacities for normal performance are 1.3 L and 1.4 L.  However, 1.6 L or 1.8 T will be fabulous if you have the budget.

Next possible tuning can be exhaust system up gradation. The most effective way of fine-tuning the VW engine would be to balance the air intake and exhaust system. You could see a variety of air-intake upgrades that you can do you’re your VW. Air intake upgrades supply good and clean breathing for your VW engine. You need to make sure that exhaust system is working properly for better engine performance. Once you have completed all this, your VW’s improved transformation should be perceptible. Turbo charging could be good idea depending upon how much cash you can spend on it. But at the end you are bound to appreciate it.

The next turn would be the VW’s differential. A slip diff which is electronically controlled should be the top choice. However if you’re not intending to race with your VW it would be a sheer wastage of money. In this regard a torque started LSD should be the sensible choice. It is not so costly and is capable of providing a considerable raise to your VW performance. In addition, it is right for almost every load condition.

In addition to that the diesel tuning kit is a tuning box for VW diesel engines that helps increase motor power and consumes less fuel. Diesel tuning kit has the huge benefit over chip tuning because here one does not need to open the electronic control box and transform the vehicle’s original system. The unit is set for use on all VW car model and one can mount it oneself without costly aid from professionals. The tuning unit can easily be mounted and removed as and when required.

Other tuning promises for your VW would consist of tire replacing for better magnetism and driving comfort and weight judgment. There are varieties in tire selections that are easier to find. Luckily there are a large number of high quality tires accessible for VW’s. As for weight reduction, changing the hood, bonnet and front wings with carbon fiber would be some other advantages that every tuning pro would like to pursue.

VW Passat Tuning

VW launched the Passat back in 1973 that in the beginning came with two and four door family car. Later it came with other versions with three- and five-doors. Maybe it’s unusual for them, but at that time it was an ideal design for their quality engines. Toyota Passat was declared as car of the year for many reasons. At one hand it is family size car while at other it offers absolute driving pleasure. However, experts believe that Toyota Passat shares its platform with the A4. Though, you can modify any model from Toyota, but the perfect bet would be 130BHP or even higher.

At the consideration of “classics“, everyone thinks about something different. Generally the VW vehicles were introduced many years ago, but still popular not amongst car tuners but even common car enthusiasts. VW launched the Passat back in 1973 which in the beginning came with two and four door family car. Later it came with other versions with three- and five-doors. Maybe it’s unusual for them, but at that time it was an ideal design, or their quality engines etc. We’ve met several times with modifications of these cars, sometimes well-mannered and sporting, while at other with violent looks and so on. But every time they were exceptional. Here we will further talk about the tuning process of VW Passat.

Believe it or not, Volkswagen Passat is still in demand in the modern world. Find someone who doesn’t know the world-renowned 4th generation VW Passat. A big car appears heavy and huge with a simple design but especially stylish and deluxe. Many years have passed since its first model was produced but surprisingly this car is still in demand. Certainly it’s not only for a specific exterior but also for its great engines and well rounded performance. In fact VW should be proud of such things.

The car is well driven by the most dominant engine in this model – a mighty 2, 8 liter V6. Its maximum output is 193 hp at 6000 rpm, a maximum speed is 238 km/ph and 0-100 acceleration within 7.8 seconds. Overall it can be of very good value if you recognize this car is 10 years old.

Let’s first talk about the mechanism changes that can be done in VW Passat. To help avoid traction loss when driving on slick surfaces, a Torsen AWD system can be utilized for this purpose. Power can be improved and turbocharged with diesel with a TDI engine which produces 135 PS. Best parts about this engine is that it utilizes diesel for fuel economy and its ability to operate with bio-fuels, an inexpensive alternative to gas. It becomes a factor of utmost importance knowing the rising costs of fuel these days. This Torsen AWS system usually comes with the four wheel drive version. Before tuning let us talk about the VW Passat in the form to bodywork. The bodywork of VW Passat comprises extensions under front and rear bumper, sills, rims, front grills, rear wing, eyebrows, door back mirrors, optical roof extension and exhaust tips.

For quite a big change let’s take a closer look. The front division was simple, but fancy changed by the new extension under the front bumper. The extension matches with the front bumper openings and also has three extended openings occupied with a black penetrated sheet. These openings are used like a décor and help to turn cold engine parts. Of course the final step is wheels. Three types of rims are available to fit into. In the first case you can have 19”chromed 5-spoked SMC design SV rims suitable for show-cars. Secondly, 18” 10-spoked Tomason TN1 rims are available. And finally 19” 15-spoked ASA ZR1 can be mounted. So you can choose the ones that best suit your taste and requirements.

VW Lupo Tuning

Volkswagen is a great car maker company that has brought several masterpieces at different times. VW Lupo is a small wonderful city car with tons of features. VW Volkswagen continued production of Lupo for span of many years between 1998-2005. Before the launch of VW Fox, VW Lupo led the roads for various reasons. As one of the top four leading car makers Volkswagen is one company that leads improvements and researches with the different models of cars according to need. Though, VW Lupo was a leader but it was swapped by VW fox later on.

With the best part of car design formed, it was always bent into a little larger and bulky design.  But later VW determined to stand in between by making smaller and lighter design, and it resulted in the form of VW Lupo in the 1998. This version of VW has become a true successor of VW Golf Mk1.And in that period it was directly competed by the brands of different companies like Opel’s, Fiat’s and Fords. And when VW Lupo was replaced by VW Fox, its production has been stopped in 2005.

Due to its some special features this car had achieved several awards in that time for the micro car in 2001, best small car in 1999 & best fuel economy award in 1999. All of these great honors were awarded to this car. That means it was really a great car of its time and still you can find many VW Lupo lovers. Basically it was a 3L car. That means drinking 3 liters of fuel at 100 km. But later some more prototype models were also developed through further modifications and upgrades. Some of the most common ones are: VW Lupo 1.4 TDI 75 BHP, VW Lupo 1.7 SDI 60 BHP, VW Lupo 3L TDI 61 BHP and VW Lupo 3L TDI 61 BHP.

When it comes to the body parts light weight aluminum & magnesium alloys were used in making doors, rear-hatch, bonnet, wheels, suspension system, engine block etc to gain a total weight of only 830 kg. It was Tiptronic gearbox and auto start/stop system was fitted in the engines. Battery was attached at lower center for better weight distribution. In the later time 1L concept also came into existence that means 1 Litter fuel consumption for 100 Km.  So we can note that there were many models which were nothing but upgrades with a few changes made in the original Lupo. For example, as part of upgrade 3-cylinder engine was powered by diesel with direct fuel injection and turbo chargers.

VW Lupo Diesel Tuning

Here we are discussing the tuning of Volkswagen Lupo 3L TDI model. Volkswagen has put all its efforts in making it world’s first 3 Liter fuel consuming car. This car appears very tall, while width fairly extensive. Basically it has a feminine look and plain all over.

The 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine under the hood is the first diesel engine with cylinder head, cylinder block in aluminum.  A balancer shaft is used to suppress vibrations, which results it in an extremely smooth engine. Inoculation is through pump that induces high-pressure unit injector elements set in the cylinder head and motivated by the camshaft. The higher pressure leads into a more proficient burn with enhanced economy & performance.

Volkswagen Lupo VW Lupo Diesel Tuning

The overall weight of this Lupo model stays at 1,882 lbs – over 1,000 lbs. The highest speed of the Lupo 3L TDI is 165 km/h (102 mph) and acceleration pickups from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) within 14.5 seconds. One of the major drawbacks is lower fuel consumption which is a problematic in the winter month. To provide sufficient heating fuel is not burned for the commuter compartment. But we have an option of electric heater for this purpose.

There is a latest direct shift gearbox (DSG) seen in the R32 and Audi TT 3.2, with a different programming and one less gear. DSG is a double-clutch, controlled electronically like in appearances to a tiptronic automatic, but more like a manual gearbox mechanically within – no clutch pedal. The engine can be started keeping the brake pedal down & in situation “E” the car drives off when the accelerator is down, and the driver has options to select between the economy and the automatic mode through the switch. All external body parts are unlike the standard Lupo regarding the material and other elements used in making outer covering.

The suspension systems of the Lupo 3L TDI, walk at front, torsion beam trailing arm axle at rear – have been made larger in the name of improvement. At front there is damper support, the engine sub frame and the brake calipers made of Aluminum. On the rear axle, while trailing arms are made of steel. Coil springs and dampers, the latter in Aluminum, are not added in the base model, which is giving more room in interior hatch space. The rear drum brakes are also made of aluminum. Alloy wheels of the Lupo 3L TDI are heavy as well good-looking.

All other parts like springs, drive shafts, brake servo, pedals and steering column are weight optimized. Even the gas-filled struts & engine bonnet have also been weight optimized by making these of aluminum. The thermal tinted glass window is very thinner and also weight optimized for better pickup, speed and fuel consumption.

VW Golf Tuning

VW Golf is a family car that has been in production since 1974. Needless to say VW Golf is one of the most successful cars from Volkswagen. It was marketed across the world under different names and configuration especially as the VW Rabbit in USA and Canada & VW Caribe in Mexico. In true words it has been a successful successor of VW Beetle. It was considered world’s third best selling model. Its variant was mostly in 3 door hatchback as well as 5 door hatchback design.

This car was launched in Europe in 1983 & it was the first GTI model of its own generation. It was manufactured in a very little quantity initially but within a period of six months its demand was grown exponentially. It is very dynamic & faster car of its generation because engine pulls well with relatively small body weight. It is brand new model to rejoice after adding height performance Pirelli tires. The tires are fitted over 18” titanium rims. As well as interior is given a slightly customized look through leather sporting seat.

The engine power is resolved into a 230 hp, over old & original 112hp. Moreover, its 2000 VAG 1.8T engine is a treat for every tuning enthusiast as it can be fairly easily tweaked to push out as much as 300 BHP without any need for internal up-gradation and or strengthening. This power lets achieve the 245kmph & accelerate 100 km/ph in just 6.8 seconds. But if DTS clutch is used with this then it would take only 6.6 seconds. The target of making this GTI Pirelli model is to provide power with control in a single unit with– firm chassis, fast brakes, ESP-which is proved. When it comes to tuning the main part of all this is tire alteration. In this model newest P-zero high performance tires are used. These characteristic are helpful in handling, braking, comfort & evading aquaplaning.

Its tires are on the alloy rim & which is 6*14”. Its shell is titanium painted with five spoke which reminds the original design. A famous letter “P” is also written over this. The bumpers are entirely painted while side sills are in car’s paint. The original GTI had black sills, front spoiler & bottom part of its rear bumper. The color Sunflower (bright yellow) was particularly given to this model. So if you observe something bright yellow in your back mirror and its coming up fast, than it must be only one car – the new VW Golf GTI Pirelli.

A look into the interior will take your breath away. Its sporting seat perfectly matches with the Pirelli style.
